Allen Barbre's Hometown Offers Honor

The Granby Economic Development Committee, in conjunction with the city of Granby, is embarking on a quest to honor one of our citizens who has achieved national recognition. Allen Barbre is a 2003 graduate of East Newton High School, and grew up in Granby. Two of his young local fans, Kathryn and Kendace Patterson, suggested the city erect signs at the city limits noting Granby as the home of Allen Barbre of the Green Bay Packers.

The 2007 Granby Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Nov 24th at 6:00pm along Main Street.

Mural work Progressing

Work continues on the Granby mining mural painted by Dan McWilliams as the winning entry for the 1st annual Thomas Hart Benton Festival. Take a peek and see how things are progressing!

Granby Museum Opens New Exhibit

Dec. 2, at 3:00, following the Christmas Parade, the Granby Museum will host an event to open the new lead mine replica.

Fund established to start Work on Benton Mural

The Granby Economic Development Committe (GEDC) has established The Granby Museum Mural Fund at Community Bank & Trust, and will be accepting donations to help with the Thomas Hart Benton mural project on the wall of the Miner`s Museum.

East Newton Deca Car Show

The East Newton Deca chapter will be hosting a car show on October 29th, 2005 at Dick Smith Park in Ganby. The cost to enter a car into the show is $10.00. Everyone is invited-- there will be food and beverage.
